TILBURG – Since March 2018 all adults can enter coffee shops in Tilburg. This means that foreigners can enter as well. After a 7-month trial period the municipality of Tilburg has decided to continue this trial until January 2019.
Over the past few months the I-criterion, that says only Dutch residents are allowed to enter coffee shops, was denied. This meant anyone was allowed to enter. This trial was initiated to prevent illegal cannabis trade in the streets. Apparently, half a year wasn’t long enough to properly examine the effects of the trial period. Therefore, another three months are added.
So, dear non-Dutch folks, we welcome you with open arms in our shops at the Spoorlaan and Piusstraat!
